Swimming in Malta is a Dream

We went here twice. This is a beautiful beach in Malta. I would advise to spend the day at the Beach Club . Here you can rent sun beds and there is wait staff taking your orders throughout the day. It is possible to go with your own things. It gets busy so I’d go early and if you want the club, be sure to reserve your seats.

We went here on a whim and it was a great decision! The movie “Popeye” with Robin Williams was filmed here and they have left the village in tact. Although it is definitely set up like an amusement park, there are quiet spots to hang out and the views are beautiful. There’s a bit of a walk down to the water but it was one of the nicest places that we swam.

If you’re with small children, I would recommend booking a bed by the front. The water is shallow and. the kids can swim all day. This is also where most of the entertainment takes place, so if you’re up for a day of singing and dancing with Popeye, this is the spot for you. Otherwise, wander up to the top of the village and there are some little hideaways with beds where you’ll find peace and quiet. We had a lovely day here.

You can’t go to Malta and not see the Blue Lagoon. We rented a boat and a captain for the day and this was without question our best day on the Island. It is busy but there is a scene here and you can tell that a lot of locals like to spend the day here too. There are many rental companies. Again, reserve it!

Saint Julian’s is busy and a great place to stay if you want everything on your doorstep. Swimming in the harbor feels strange at first but it turns out to be one of the nicest places to swim.

Golden Bay is an easy place to go. You can hire beds at a minimus cost and there is a restaurant if you don’t want to bring your own. The water here seemed less blue than everywhere else we went but it was still a very nice day at the beach.

Mellieha has everything to spend a great vacation in Malta. There is a lot of activity and a few very nice hotels. I would go here if you want to spend a week at the beach and just chilling by the pool. There’s lots of water sports, too.
